My favourite is Final Fight, although the character Cody is one of the most stupid game characters ever

Why do you think Cody is stupid?

My favorite is Double Dragon.

I`de have to go with "final fight" :D!
Way ahead of it`s time when it comes to beat em ups!
It`s a capcom title, and we all know how much ass capcom kicked in the 90`s:)!
Second on the list would have to be street fighter 2!
Capcom again.. :D!
Cheers!!!

When looking back to what I played in the actual arcades what what beat 'm ups I enjoyed most then, Final Fight definitely comes to mind. I also spend a lot of money on The Simpson's arcade game, just a really awesome and fun game that was! There was also a Wild West themed beat 'm up I played quite a lot, but I forgot what it was called lol.

Now having played more through the power of MAME I also have to mention Aliens vs Predator and the Dungeons & Dragons games (if you loved Knights of the Round, which is also awesome, you'll love these!).

I don't know why I dislike Cody, I just do but my favourite character by far in Final Fight (or any other beat em' up) is Haggar. Captain Commando is another great beat em' up by Capcom also.

Not saying anything new here, but X-men is my pick. I love Simpsons but I think X-men is a little better.

Anyone played that game "Gang Wars"? It was horrible, but it's one of those things where it's so bad that I love it. Never played the true cabinet, but I enjoy having it on Mame.

My favorite Arcade "Beat 'em Up" would have to be Golden Axe.

All of the games mentioned before are fantastic and many hold a special place in my heart, but seeing as it was a game that was actually in my junior / senior high school's cafeteria my 7th grade year (small catholic school, one of the parent's owned a vending company and donated it's use, but of course most of the quarters spent in it went to the school) and that was Magic Sword!!! It is a beat em up and sword & sorcery game all in one.
